Mugdha Godse hails from Pune. She is a commerce graduate from Symbiosis College (Pune University). People close to her call her Mugs. Like Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai she used the route of beauty contests to enter the industry.
She was declared the winner at Gladrags Mega Model Contest and the Miss Body Beautiful contest in 2002. Mugdha went on to win the Miss Perfect 10 at the Ponds Femina Miss India Contest, 2004.
