Jon Stewart was born Nov 28, 1962 is an American political satire, author, television host, actor, media critic and stand up comedian. He is known as host of The Daily Show a satirical news program broadcast on Comedy Central.
Stewart started as a stand up comedian but branched on TV as host of the short Attention Span Theater on Comedy Central. He has also had several film roles as an actor.
Stewart has gained recognition as a bitter, satiric criticism of the personality driven media shows, especially those of the American media networks CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC.
Stewart hosted the 78th and 80 Academy Awards. In despite its declared mandate of entertainment, The Daily Show has been nominated for news and journalism awards.
