We have just migrated our calendars from meeting maker to Google Apps for Education.
This cloud service is obviously very cool and all that but I would still like to have an off cloud backups.
There are several commercial programs that you can, but I wanted something simple that can be scheduled from CRON. This script uses WWW mechanize to log into Calendar and download a compressed copy of all calendars.
For the user account is an administrative, and has recorded all the users calendars, this will make a zip file containing all the calendars.
I adjusted the original script to use certain administrative side. Also did I read the script in a password file, instead of giving sensitive information to the command line, making it appear the process list. This can be a problem when backup several large calendars take some time.
